UYO – The Akwa Ibom State Government has announced the unexpected passing of Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, wife of the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno.
In an early Friday release, State Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, confirmed the tragic news, revealing that the First Lady passed away after battling an undisclosed illness.
The statement, titled “Unexpected Sunset,” read, “With heavy hearts, we (the Akwa Ibom Government) announce the death of Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, following a period of illness.

She passed away peacefully on September 26th, 2024, surrounded by her family at the hospital. The family submits to the will of the Almighty and requests prayers and support from well-meaning individuals during this trying period.
Further details will be shared by the family as necessary. Meanwhile, the family respectfully asks for privacy as they grieve their beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.
“His Excellency, Governor Umo Eno, expresses gratitude to all who have supported the first family during this period and assures the citizens that despite this significant personal loss, his dedication to serving the state remains steadfast.”
