The Calabar Municipal Government has launched the Calabar Green Business Database. A pioneering initiative aimed at identifying and supporting businesses committed to eco-friendly practices.
The project, spearheaded by the Office of the Personal Assistant on Climate Change and Green Economy, Rachael Bassey seeks to create a directory of enterprises actively engaged in climate-smart solutions, renewable energy, recycling, sustainable agriculture, and other green innovations.
According to Bassey, the database will serve as a critical resource for policymakers, investors, and consumers interested in supporting businesses that prioritize sustainability.
“This initiative is about fostering an economic system that is both profitable and environmentally responsible. By recognizing and promoting green businesses, we are strengthening Calabar’s position as a leader in sustainability while providing these businesses with access to funding, partnerships, and policy engagement,” She stated.
