UNICAL VC, Prof. Florence Banku Obi, has inspecting the Research Fair and Exhibition of the University as part of the activities lined up for the 50th anniversary and 37th convocation ceremony of the institution.
The VC stated that the Research Fair and Exhibition was to showcase the university’s research contribution to national development.
She added that the university exist to come up with innovations for human and nation building.
According to the VC, the research fair is also an avenue for the private sector to come in and partner with the university for overall development of the country.
Also speaking, the Director of Research and Development in the University of Calabar, Prof. Igri Okon Bassey, said that research is a vital part of any institution and nation building.
He said that the institution in the past 50 years has come up with some research work that have greatly impacted positively on the university community and lives in general.
