GADA to Host Stakeholders’ Forum on Fostering Male Responsibility Among Church Youths and Women’s Groups

Calabar, Nigeria – Gender and Development Action (GADA) will hold a Stakeholders’ Forum on June 18th, 2025, bringing together church-based male youths and women’s associations to promote male responsibility and address gender-based violence (GBV) within faith communities as part of its ongoing project, Reducing Gender-Based Violence in Cross River State.

Recognizing the church’s powerful role in shaping social norms and values, the forum aims to challenge harmful gender ideologies by engaging young men and mothers as key agents of positive change. The event will emphasize Social Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) and explore the use of positive religious texts to promote non-violent behavior and gender equity.

In partnership with the Cross River State office of the Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, the forum will convene over 300 participants in a “Meet, Share, and Learn” event to deepen awareness and strengthen the church’s role as a transformative space for justice and inclusion.
